- The Institute of Health, Midwifery and Nursing Science at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg offers degree programmes at Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD level for nursing and healthcare professionals. The Institute's research focuses, amongst other things, on the care and support of older people and those with chronic illnesses, and on promoting evidence-based practice.
- At the Institute of Nursing Science at the University of Cologne, the focus of research is on clinical nursing research. The main emphasis is placed on the development, evaluation and implementation of nursing interventions with the aim of sustainably improving the provision of care. Key topics include the care of people with dementia, participatory research and the prevention of violence in various care settings. In terms of teaching, the Institute is responsible for the Bachelor’s degree programme in Clinical Nursing (B.Sc.) and the Master’s degree programme in Advanced Nursing Practice (M.Sc.).
- The Diakonissenhaus ZION e.V. Aue comprises various areas of care for the elderly, guest and parish work, an outpatient hospice service and the sisterhood. Through our day care centre, our home care service and our care home for the elderly, we offer a comprehensive range of support and care for people in need of care and those approaching the end of their lives. Through the collaboration of all our departments, our aim is to be a ‘home of comfort and security’.
- The Paul-Riebeck-Stiftung in Halle (Saale) is a charitable foundation which, over the course of its more than 130 years of existence, has developed into a specialist in care for the elderly and people with disabilities. Whether in residential care, semi-residential care, outpatient care or in their own homes, the Foundation supports and accompanies older people and those in need of care in a variety of life situations, including people with dementia. A particular focus is placed, amongst other things, on person-centred care, the promotion of independence and participation, and the continuous improvement of the quality of care. As a practical partner, the foundation contributes its expertise in residential, semi-residential and outpatient care to the collaboration. This benefits the practical development, testing and implementation of innovative approaches to care.
- Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and University of Cologne: Practice-oriented and practice-relevant research requires intensive exchange and close collaboration between researchers, practitioners, and the respective target group. The PraWiLab enables our research institutes to work together with stakeholders from nursing practice to identify specific needs and address them in a targeted manner through applied research. Since nursing needs are often multifaceted and complex, our institutes primarily address them using what are known as complex interventions. The development and evaluation of such complex interventions is a methodological focus of our work and plays a key role in shaping the content developed in the PraWiLab. Through this continuous dialogue between academia and practice, research findings are directly fed back into practice and can thus contribute to long-term improvements in care processes through evidence-based approaches.
- Paul-Riebeck-Stiftung: If nursing practice is to continue to evolve, close exchange between academia and clinical practice is essential. Within the PraWiLab, the Paul-Riebeck-Stiftung, as a practice partner, actively contributes experiences and questions from everyday clinical practice to research and development processes. Staff from various areas of nursing collaborate to identify specific needs and, together with academic partners, develop practical solutions. This allows new nursing interventions and care approaches to be tested and refined directly in practice at the PraWiLab. At the same time, the Foundation’s staff gain access to the latest research findings and can integrate them into their daily work. This commitment aims to sustainably enhance the quality of care and advance innovative approaches in collaboration with academia and the field.
- Sächsisches Gemeinschafts-Diakonissenhaus ZION Aue e.V.: We are committed to continuously improving the quality of our elder care services so that we can provide our clients, guests, and residents with the best possible care—care that benefits them and contributes to their well-being. Close collaboration between practice and academia—and, in particular, an exchange on an equal footing between the two—can play a key role in challenging structures and ways of thinking, integrating scientific knowledge and adapting it to practical contexts, conducting joint, practice-oriented research to generate new knowledge, and thereby advancing elder care on multiple levels over the long term.
- Städtische Seniorenheime Krefeld: As a practice partner, we are committed to collaborating with the academic community to establish a common ground between practice and academia and to generate knowledge for carers. Through close collaboration with the Institute for Nursing Science at the University of Cologne, we identify challenges in everyday care and develop evidence-based strategies to continuously improve our clients’ quality of life. Our goal is to firmly integrate this cooperation into our neighbourhood concept and to incorporate research findings into our care practices. Implementation is based on a participatory approach, ensuring that all relevant groups are involved in the identification and development processes.
